Stanford and MIT Top Three Subjects in Times Rankings

Two U.S. universities have topped the three out of four World University Rankings 2019 by the subject whose results were released by Times Higher Education on Wednesday.

Stanford University has ranked No. 1 in law for the second consecutive year with an overall Times score of 82 and education with a score of 92.8, while Massachusetts Institute of Technology has topped the business and economy subject with an overall score of 93.

The universities were ranked on 13 performance indicators which were further grouped into five areas of teaching, industry income, citations, research, and international outlook.

In social sciences category, University of Oxford has secured number No.1 spot with an overall score of 93. Oxford is followed by seven other American universities: Stanford, MIT, Harvard, Yale, University of Chicago and University of Michigan, who made their way into top ten of the subject.

In law category, six U.S universities including Stanford secured top ten ranks with an overall score of more than 77.3, while in education, seven U.S universities were able to make their mark in top ten ranks.

In business and economy category, seven U.S. universities including MIT secured top ten ranks.

In 2019, Times will release a total of 11 subject rankings. Seven more subject lists will follow in October and November.
