Michigan State Football Player Pleads Guilty to Raping a Woman

-

A former Michigan State University football player has pleaded guilty to raping a woman in 2017.

Auston Robertson pleaded guilty on one count of assault before the Ingham County Circuit Court judge Clinton Canady III on Wednesday, according to The Lansing State Journal.

Robertson was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for raping a woman off campus in April 2017.

The victim told the court that Robertson forced himself on her after following her into the bedroom.

He was later dismissed by the university after the victim’s boyfriend reported the incident to the football coach.

After the guilty plea to one count, the prosecutor office has agreed to dismiss the other two counts, thus bringing down his sentence from 15 years to three and a half.

Robertson will be sentenced by the court on December 4.
