Touro College is Most Secure School in United States

New York-based Touro College is the most secure school in the United States when it comes to the safety and security of its community members.

The school was ranked number one by ASecureLife, a smart home and security company, in its ranking list that put together 100 most secure college campuses in the country.

To compile the ranking list, the company analyzed crime data of hundreds of public and nonprofit colleges between 2007-2017. All the schools offer student housing and have an average yearly enrollment of 10,000 students or more.

Florida-based Keiser University – Ft Lauderdale ranked second, while Missouri-based Columbia College ranked third for taking measures that protect its students, faculty, staff, and visitors on campus.

Over the last first years, the National Center for Education Statistics has noted a declining trend in crime rates on campuses. In 2016, more than 12 thousand burglaries occurred on higher education institutions, 1,106 robberies 3,499 motor vehicle thefts and 2,200 aggravated assaults.

Other schools that figured in the top ten list of 100 most secure college campuses in the order of rank are: University of North Georgia, Park University, Purdue University Northwest, Northeastern Illinois University, Florida SouthWestern State College, Utah Valley University and University of Wisconsin- La Crosse
