Ohio State Athletics Offers Free Tickets to Federal Employees

-

Ohio State University is offering free tickets to federal workers as the current government shutdown nears a month long.

The university’s Department of Athletics made the announcement on Friday, allocating up to two complimentary tickets per affected government worker at each of its events.

“Continuing through the end of the government shutdown, federal employees can receive two free tickets to all Ohio State athletics events, including men’s and women’s basketball, men’s ice hockey, wrestling, women’s gymnastics, and men’s lacrosse,” the release states.

Federal employees must show a valid government ID on the day of the event at the event site or at the athletics ticket office to be deemed eligible.

As it enters its fifth week, the government shutdown is not only affecting federal employees, but research agencies and the universities and students that depend on them for grants as well.
