Southern Maine University Bans Professor for Organizing Protest Course

-

The University of Southern Maine has banned one of its professors for offering a one-credit course to students to participate in a protest against Senator Susan Collins for extending her support to Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.

The university has barred Susan Feiner, a university professor who retired in September for offering in course “Engaged Citizenship,” asking students to protest in Washington D.C. against Kavanaugh.

“We are embarrassed by and apologize for the rogue behavior of a former colleague,” Portland Press Herald quoted USM President Glenn Cummings.

“In response to her inappropriate actions Dr. Susan Feiner has been notified that she is now barred from teaching at the University of Southern Maine, a prohibition that will be upheld by the other campuses of the University of Maine System as well.”

The university says that Feiner organized “an unauthorized class that advanced her personal political agenda.”

Meanwhile, an investigation is already underway against the professor for organizing the course and more actions are anticipated during the course of the investigation.
