Portland-based Reed College has been named the top college in Oregon. The ranking compiled by College Consensus, a new college ranking website, gave Reed an aggregate rating of 73.3. The college has received an aggregate rating of 65.8 in Publisher Consensus and 80.8 in Student Consensus.
The ranking, released on Tuesday, takes into account the most recent results from different college ranking systems with the real student review scores from the internet and rates the colleges accordingly.
“Oregon is known far and wide as one of the most progressive, environmentally-conscious, and innovative, entrepreneurial states in the union,” said Consensus Managing Editor Carrie Sealey-Morris.
“All of those qualities are directly and indirectly linked to a higher education system that supports experiment and risk-taking: Oregon’s colleges and universities provide the tools to take on leadership positions in industry, government, education, and culture,” she added.
Other colleges that made it in the College Consensus top ten lists include, in order of rank, University of Portland, Willamette University, Lewis & Clark College, Linfield College, George Fox University, Corban University, University of Oregon, Oregon Institute of Technology and Northwest Christian University.
