Smith College is the best college for women in the country when it comes to offering empowering academic programs and the networking power of robust alumni organizations.

The college ranking website, College Consensus, ranked top 36 best women’s colleges after combining the student reviews and published academic rankings of the colleges.

Based in Massachusetts, the college offers 1,000-course options in approximately 50 areas of study in various fields and received college consensus score of 81.9 and student consensus score of 80.7.

It is also is the largest member of the Seven Sisters, a loose association of seven liberal arts colleges in the Northeast that are historically women’s colleges

Another Massachusetts-based Wellesley College ranked second with a college consensus score of 80.1 and student consensus score of 78.3. It offers nearly 50 majors in a variety of areas, including interdepartmental majors, and has over 150 student organizations.

It sponsors approximately 14 varsity teams, plus several team clubs and recreational activities.

Following Wellesley, Scripps College often counted among the most beautiful campuses ranked third for offering programs that build the knowledge, expertise, skills, and confidence of students required for a robust career.

Other colleges that were featured in the top best women’s colleges list, in order of the rank, are Cottey College, Bryn Mawr College, Barnard College, Mount Holyoke College, Spelman College, College of Saint Benedict and Hobart William Smith College.
