California State University, East Bay publicly released its comprehensive database containing thousands of remote job openings to assist struggling American job seekers. With the pandemic causing great economic hardship, the university made the move to help those struggling as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Originally, the school’s Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) only catered to enrolled students. The office’s primary purpose is to help students with their future career prospects by sharing valuable resources and opportunities.
Through this effort, the university has lent its support to those outside its community who are striving to cope with unemployment during these tough times.
The database contains over 3,000 active job openings that are regularly updated. It compiles a wide range of positions from numerous job boards offering home-based employment. It features an array of fields such as journalism, engineering, accounting, healthcare, and customer service.
Among the notable employers on the list are Slack, Vox Media, Pinterest, Zillow, the National Math and Science Initiative, Wayfair, Campbell’s Soup, and Rosetta Stone.
The United States continues to break unemployment records. There are over 21 million Americans who have claimed jobless benefits through various government programs. Individual states only provide payments for 12 to 26 weeks.
