Cornell, Harvard Are Most Admired Architecture Schools in Nation

Cornell University is one of the most admired architecture schools in the country for the second consecutive year, according to DesignIntelligence (DI) rankings.

DesignIntelligence surveyed architecture, landscape architecture and interior design professionals across the U.S. seeking their perspective on design education and professional practice and received more than 12,000 responses.

Programs in the architecture survey must be accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).

“Through hiring and working with graduates of many different programs, the leaders and hiring managers also can also offer a perspective on the relative strengths of architecture schools,” the report reads.

Cornell offers the best architecture undergraduate level programs and its graduates are most well prepared for professional practice.

Following Cornell, Rhode Island School of Design ranked second by jumping four places from its previous ranking in 2018, while Rice University and Cooper Union ranked third and fourth respectively.

When it comes to graduate-level programs, Harvard University ranks top among all the architecture schools in the nation, while Columbia University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale University, Cornell University ranked held a spot among top five universities for being the most admired architecture schools.
