Western Governors University ranks first in the nation when it comes to offering the most affordable online healthcare administration bachelor’s degree programs.

The university’s B.S. in Business-Healthcare Management is one of the cheapest online degrees currently offered that prepares students for various roles in hospitals, government offices and nursing facilities, according to a new Bachelor’s Degree Center ranking report.

Created with the help of Business Program Council which is composed of professional experts in the healthcare field, the program uses a flat rate tuition model for its students.

Columbia Southern University’s B.S. in Health Care Administration program ranked second for providing students the skills required to land a good career upon graduation.

“The program teaches them to evaluate strategic goals of any organization. They learn to enhance their communication skills while understanding the importance of developing professional standards and policies within an organization,” the center report says.

“Columbia Southern University is committed to providing an economical program by including textbook cost into the tuition. They will also accept transfer credits.”

Bachelor’s Degree Center looked at cost, along with regional accreditation and reputation  in order to rank the universities.

Jackson State University’s B.S. in Healthcare Administration and Regent University Online’s four online healthcare management degree programs ranked third and fourth, respectively.

“As the healthcare system continues to grow in size and complexity, there’s never been more need for the glue that holds it all together,” Bachelor’s Degree Center editors said in a release.

“That glue, of course, is ‘the managers and administrators who make sure that records are kept, employees are paid, operations are up to regulatory standards, and all of the other background work that keeps healthcare facilities serving patients.'”
