A sorority at the University of Texas at San Antonio expelled one of its members for posting pro-Trump content on her TikTok.

Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) sorority expelled Jaycie Barton in August for posting a nine-second TikTok of a pro-Trump rally. The video displayed signs saying “All Lives Matter” and “Trump 2020.”

On September 19, the sorority’s judicial chairman emailed Barton informing her that she had conducted herself “in a manner detrimental to her chapter and/or members of the Fraternity” and therefore was being charged with failing to “cooperate in the best interest of the Fraternity.”

Barton was reprimanded by the sorority for “unsisterly conduct” before they gave her the pink slip altogether.

During a September hearing on the incident, one sorority member said, “Zeta Tau Alpha is trying to be more inclusive and saying, ‘all lives matter,’ is not being very inclusive.”

Following the sorority’s disciplinary hearing, ZTA informed Barton that she had been stripped of her title as Risk Reduction and Education chair. Barton was also required “to complete a sensitivity training that involves inclusion and diversity.”

Following these allegations, Barton claimed that she was smeared and bullied by her ZTA sisters, which runs counterintuitive to what the sorority stands for. “The sorority advocates for mental health, yet they allowed all these girls in the sorority to call me racist, flat-out bullying me,” she added.
