The University of Minnesota has launched new short-term courses on unique topics to keep its community members engaged with the university.

The university’s College of Continuing and Professional Studies is offering various courses like the forgotten gods of Scandinavia, the physics of superheroes and obscure red wines, according to The Minnesota Daily report.

“There’s so much [at the University], it’s like a microcosm of the world,” Anastasia Faunce, the program director for LearningLife, told Minnesota Daily.

“There are so many people doing so many different things that we’ve got a wealth of research and scholars at our disposal.”

The courses will be taught by the university faculty who has special interests other than their respective fields.

At present, the university is offering more than 70 programs, including one-day immersions and seminars.
