The Western Governors University has announced $50,000 in scholarships for students considering obtaining a college degree in 2019.

The $2,000 scholarship is being offered to 25 students under its New Year, New You Scholarship, designed for new WGU students or for alumni seeking a second degree.

“Education is the greatest predictor of future success,” said WGU Indiana chancellor emeritus Allison Barber.

“WGU Indiana is committed to helping Hoosiers fulfill their dream of degree completion and career success, by giving them a flexible, affordable online option for their education.”

Last year in November, the university devoted $750,000 in scholarships for veterans, active-duty military, reservists and military family members to honor their service to the nation.

Applications for the new degrees are being accepted through March 31, 2019.
