The Western Governors University has announced $750,000 in scholarships for veterans, active-duty military, reservists, and military family members to honor their service to the nation.

The university is offering WGU Salute to Veterans Scholarship for various undergraduate and graduate programs, including K-12 education, IT, business, health professions, and nursing.

“When my husband leaves the Marine Corps next year, I will take my turn as the primary breadwinner for our family. This scholarship has allowed me to get my career going so that I can rise to the occasion,” said Domonique Vigil, a WGU student from Southern California, who is pursuing her master’s degree in English Education.

“It’s time for me to get back into the workforce now that we’re nearing the end of our adventure as a military family.”

The university is planning to provide 250 scholarships to students across the country, which will be up to $3,000.

Applications for the program are being accepted through December 31, 2018.
