Western Governors University has announced a Back to School Scholarship program to ease the burden of tuition on hundreds of students.

The school will award $750,000 in scholarships to students based on their financial need, willingness to study online, academic record among other considerations.

The scholarship, open to more than 60 bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, is valued at $2,000 per student.

“The scholarships will be applied at the rate of $500 per six-month term, renewable for up to four terms,” reads the school release.

“After working for three years as a teaching assistant, I knew I wanted to go to back to school to earn my bachelor’s degree so that I could make an even bigger difference in the lives of my students,” a recent WGU graduate Nicole Ibarra-Vogel said.

“Just last week, I entered my own classroom as a first-year kindergarten resource teacher, and I couldn’t be more excited about teaching and working with these kids.”

Applications for the program are accepted through September 30, 2018.
