Auburn University and the University of Alabama — Alabama’s two largest public universities — are offering multiple incentives for students who choose to get vaccinated in time for the fall semester.

At Auburn, inoculated students who are officially registered have a chance to earn a $1,000 scholarship, premium parking passes, unlimited meal plan upgrade, a weekend camping and watersports package for two, and priority in-class registration.

Moreover, student organizations can also join the program by submitting the group’s name on their entry forms. Expected prizes include free venue reservations, custom Under Armour apparel, as well as free food truck meals, and spray tans.

Winners will be randomly chosen and contacted via email by Auburn’s Student Affairs office throughout the fall semester. They must submit proof of vaccination (Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson vaccines) before they can claim their prize.

Alabama Vaccination Perks

Students attending the University of Alabama who have been vaccinated on or before August 28 can win $20 in Bama Cash — a payment option that preloads your funds to an online account that you can access through an action card.

This can be used at participating restaurants, stores, and other locations in Tuscaloosa.

WSFA reported that Alabama is behind on vaccination rates compared to other states. To further improve these numbers, the Alabama Department of Corrections will also be offering a $5 incentive for inmates who receive a COVID-19 vaccination, while Gadsden City in north Alabama will offer $100 in cash to local residents vaccinated by October 15.
