Cuyahoga Community College students who plan to enroll in a degree program at the Union Institute & University will get a scholarship of up to $3,000, the school said in a release.

Students pursuing an associate degree at Cuyahoga who plan to transfer and enroll in a bachelor’s degree at the Union Institute will receive a $100 discount per credit hour for the first 30 credit hours of registration.

According to Sonya M. Fultz, UI&U Director of Academic Partnerships and Innovation, students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa will receive an additional first semester $500 scholarship.

“Transfer agreement partnerships are another example of Union’s commitment to meet students where they are in their educational career,” Fultz said.

“UI&U is rapidly expanding its transfer partnerships with community colleges. New partnership agreements include Ivy Tech Community College, Chatfield College, Southern State and others that will be signed in the next few weeks.”

Along with scholarships, transfer students will also receive career services, online library, writing and math tutoring services, and program advising.

Last year, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation announced a similar transfer scholarship of $40,000 per year for up to three years and college transition support, along with advising for community college students to help them complete their bachelor’s degrees.
