A former Kent State University student was arraigned last week over allegations of an alleged sexual assault on a fellow student in April 2018.

The arraignment of 20-year-old Connor Hendry comes a month after a court indicted him and charged him with five felonies including rape, sexual battery, abduction, gross sexual imposition and solicitation, Kentwired reported.

While the court set his bail at $35,000, Hendry posted 10 percent and was released on a home-arrest monitoring program. His jury trial has been set for April 16.

Hendry, who studied criminology and justice studies at Kent State, is accused of raping a 20-year old fellow student within a campus dorm on April 22, 2018. A few hours after the incident, the assault was reported to campus police.

The university has barred Hendry from having any contact with the victim and from stepping foot on its property.

Last month, a Lindenwood University weightlifter was arrested on sodomy charges for sexually abusing a male victim in a campus dorm and performing a sexual act on while he was under the influence of alcohol.
