The University of Maryland, Baltimore is the first school in the nation to offer master degree in Cannabis.
Offered by the School of Pharmacy (SOP), the new Master of Science (MS) in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to support patients and the medical cannabis industry.
A recent report by Grand View Research, Inc expect the global legal marijuana market to grow to USD 66.3 billion by the end of 2025 with increased legalization for medicinal and recreational purposes.
Designed for those interested in working in the medical cannabis industry, the program is a blend of online instruction with face-to-face experiences with no thesis requirement.
“Our MS in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics has been critically designed to prepare students to meet this demand,” said Natalie D. Eddington, dean and professor at UMSOP.
“Innovations in instructional design throughout the curriculum will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive impact on communities across the United States.”
Enrolled students will be required to take four required foundational courses in medical cannabis science, therapeutics, and policy. They will also be able to choose four elective courses based on their interests.
Applications for the fall 2020 are being accepted through April 15, 2020.
