Thanks to an on-campus free ride service, the students and faculty members at the University of Louisville will no longer need to spend money on commuting across the campus.

The free night transport was announced by the university President Neeli Bendapud on Twitter. It will cater to staff, students and faculty, who register with a Louisville.edu email address, from Monday through Saturday.

The free shuttle “Card Cab,” which started on Monday, will be available between 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. and will also serve the nearby residential areas.

The initiative taken by the university was the brainchild of former Services Vice President Chris Bird to replace the ULPD Escort Service.

The rides can only be booked via Gotcha app.
