North Park University Starts 2 Athletic Trainers Degrees

-

Chicago-based North Park University has launched two new graduate degree programs to meet the ever-increasing demand for athletic trainers.

The university is offering Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) and a five-year combination of undergraduate and a graduate degree to meet new accreditation requirements.

The announcement comes in the backdrop of Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) making it mandatory for athletic trainers to enroll in a CAATE-accredited master’s program to become eligible for taking Board of Certification (BOC) exam starting 2022.

“Earning a MSAT will prepare students to pass their BOC exam. The two-year curriculum prepares graduates with the tools and experience to contribute to the evolution of the field of athletic training and societal health. As part of the curriculum, students learn through clinical experiences, hands-on training, and a seasoned faculty,” University said in a release.

Applications for the program will be accepted through May 1, 2019.
