Anita Hill to Deliver Lecture on Sexual Violence at Vanderbilt University

-

Vanderbilt University is organizing a lecture on sexual violence where prominent legal scholar and bestselling author Anita Hill will speak on underrepresented narratives.

The lecture, “No Longer Silent: Underrepresented Narratives in Sexual Violence,” organized by Vanderbilt Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Committee as part of its biannual VSAP conference, will be held on October 28 at university’s Langford Auditorium. Hill will also answer questions from the audience post lecture.

A professor of social policy, law and women’s, gender and sexuality studies at Brandeis University, Hill is known for sexual misconduct allegations she made in 1991 against current Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. It led to a nationwide conversation about workplace sexual harassment, bringing significant changes in policies.

Hill has written many books, including Reimagining Equality: Stories of Gender, Speaking Truth to Power, Race and Finding Home and her autobiography.

The entry to the lecture is free, but a ticket is required. It will be available for students, faculty, and staff at Sarratt Student Center Box Office from October 8, and for the general public from October 15.
