When it comes to offering the most affordable nutritional science bachelor’s degree programs, California State University, Los Angeles ranks top among universities across the nation.
The university’s Nutritional Science program has been ranked as the most affordable bachelor’s program by the Bachelor’s Degree Center website. The nutritionist degree program is specifically designed for students to learn medical and community nutrition and food service.
“This affordable program understands that all individuals have a right to healthy food and education about good nutrition,” the ranking report says. “They are taught that good nutrition is important for individuals to end chronic disease and reach the best health possible.”
To identify the most affordable the universities, the website looked at the cost of all of the accredited nutrition and dietetics programs in the U.S. and ranked the colleges from lowest tuition to highest.
Following California State University, Indiana State University’s BS in Food and Nutrition ranked second, while Youngstown State University’s BS in Applied Science in Dietetics ranked third.
“Nutrition and dietetics is one of the fastest-growing career paths in the U.S. According to the BLS, the job market for nutritionists is expected to grow by 15% in the next decade, much faster than average,” the center’s editors said in a release.
“Increased demand from the field means increased demand from students, so traditional, online, and affordable degrees, as well as less-demanding certificate programs, are springing up in colleges and universities everywhere.”
The seven other institutions that offer the most affordable nutritional science degrees, in order of rank, are Wayne State University, Buffalo State University, the University of Texas at San Antonio, Delaware State University, Arkansas State University, Delta State University and Utah State University.
