University of Houston-Downtown Rolls Out Saturday Degree Program

Students with weekday commitments who want to enroll in a bachelor degree program will have a chance to do so this fall.

The University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) will now teach Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) to prepare students for promotions within respective industries and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) to prepare them for entry into the business community.

The Saturday classes program has been rolled out for students who have obligations at work and with family on weekdays.

“These weekend degree programs reflect a commitment to student success from both UHD and its community college partners,” Daniel Villanueva Jr., assistant vice president for enrollment management, said.

“We’re responding to the needs of our community and students. Programs, such as UHD’s Saturday degrees, complement similar offerings at HCC and Lone Star College to ensure students have opportunities to make a smooth transition from a community college into our University,” he added.

The programs developed in consultation with Houston Community College will be offered at Houston’s Shea Street Building and are open to all students who meet university’s admissions requirements.
