Morehead University Professor Wins Access to Justice Award

A Morehead State University professor has won Access to Justice Award for providing free legal support to people who can’t afford it.

The award was given by the Legal Aid of the Bluegrass to Kelly Collinsworth who is an associate professor of legal studies at the university during an award ceremony held on September 27.

The aid organization through various means of advocacy and education provides legal assistance to people from low-income groups.

Collinsworth, who is also an assistant county attorney in Bath County, is well known for starting pro bono divorce clinic in Morehead university service region. Along with providing free legal services, she also used the clinic to train the legal studies students.
