Stephens College Announces Reduction in Tuition

-

A day after University of Cumberlands announced tuition cuts, another college has joined the league of higher education institutions reducing tuitions to make college affordable.

Columbia-based Stephens College on Wednesday announced a College Affordability Plan, reducing the undergraduate tuition by $8,250 beginning in the fall of 2019.

The new tuition model will bring down the fee from $30,750 to $22,500, while students will continue to have access to needed merit-based financial aid to further reduce the cost.

“We’re addressing families’ concerns about college affordability even as we maintain the exceptional academic programs that are the hallmark of a Stephens College education,” college President Dianne Lynch said.

While Brian Sajko, Vice President for Enrollment Management, said, “News of our new No. 3 theatre program ranking from The Princeton Review, the opening of our new Center for Health Sciences and our innovative College-to-Career Program has yielded high interest.”

“We wanted to meet that interest with an affordable, highly competitive tuition model. That’s why we are excited about The Stephens Solution.”
