Scholarship America Announces New Program for Iowa Students

-

A scholarship and educational support organization has announced the creation of a new scholarship program to assist students across the state of Iowa who can’t afford their education costs.

The Richard O. Jacobson Legacy Scholarship Program, a renewable scholarship program launched by the non-profit Scholarship America, will offer up to $500,000 to high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduates planning to study at one of 18 eligible postsecondary institutes in Iowa.

The scholarships, developed for the Richard O. Jacobson Foundation, will help cover tuition, fees, books, supplies, on or off-campus room and board, as well as transportation costs.

This year the non-profit will provide scholarships worth up to $10,000 each for recipients.

Any student who is currently a high school senior, a graduate of an Iowa high school, or a current college undergraduate with a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, who also demonstrates financial need is eligible for the scholarship.

Applications for the scholarship program are being accepted now through March 28, 2019.
