University of Idaho Footballer Arrested on Rape Charges

-

A University of Idaho football player was arrested on Saturday on allegations of raping a fellow student at one of the school dorms.

A warrant was issued against Kyree Curington, who plays defensive back, after the Moscow Police Department filed a rape case in the wee hours of Friday morning with a bail set at $75,000.

According to the Idaho Statesman, a parent of a student called the Moscow Police on Friday morning to report a “possible” incident of sexual assault at the university’s Wallace Complex dormitories.

The university has announced an investigation into the incident and suspended Curington from the school.

“Kyree Curington has been suspended indefinitely from the football team while the university investigates an alleged incident on campus as it relates to the Student Code of Conduct,” the statement read. “This is in addition to any investigation the Moscow Police Department is conducting.”

Curington was charged with two counts of simple battery for his involvement in New Orleans brawl in 2017.

Last month, former Michigan StateUniversity football player Auston Robertson pleaded guilty on one count of assault before the Ingham County Circuit Court judge Clinton Canady III  for raping a woman in 2017.
